ACTIVISM is a community of social researchers for generating and disseminating research-based systematic knowledge to guide people to act effectively, consciously, and critically on their functional problems of everyday life. The purpose of this kind of research-based intervention is to boost up human’s functionality for transcending the distressful and unmanageable situations of practical life. It emphasizes enhancing the governability of self and circumstances to overcome the obstacles through appropriate praxis and engagement. It believes in the primacy of human praxis in shaping and reshaping of human lives and endorses the unity of knowledge and action perpetuated through different modes of engagement. The research & intervention has been set to act as a catalyst to make differences in everyday to promote or restore a meaningful life of worth living. Armed with the unique method per excellence Activism investigates problem at source for an in-depth understanding beyond the surface level manifestation to make positive differences in human action. On the basis of a research-based advisory, a team of executives engages in dialogue and debate with the case or respondents to make them aware of yet unnoticed aspects of reality so as to make them engage in the most appropriate course of action with several follow up initiatives. The peculiar form of research-based intervention has been developed into a specific method of “conversation” which takes three different forms at three different levels like case-conversation at the individual level, focus group-conversation at the institutional/sectional level, and community-conversation at the mass level. In all its forms conversation is always designed in a definite format by a team of research executives actively engaged with the process of research. Apart from the kind of research-based intervention Activism often organizes issue-based public discussion of relevance for the general public by involving internal as well as outside experts from different institutions.
